Shine Of The Times
One thing I picked up from camp was painting my nails. After two months of letting nine and ten year olds try every combination and every design of nail art imaginable, I grew used to having my nails being polished. Occasionally I would paint my own nails, for the sake of them looking semi-decent, rather than as if someone had closed their eyes and done their best to paint them. One day I noticed one of my co-counselors nails; they were a deep blue-ish with iridescent flakes. I instantly fell in love. I HAD to have that nail polish. It was decided, that nail polish would be my I-made-it-through-the-summer reward. I didn't think it would be such a task finding this particular kind of nail polish, but it turned out to be rather difficult. I went to several beauty stores as well as several different Targets and they all either didn't carry it or didn't have it in stock. After many attempts to find this nail polish I had pretty much accepted defeat. Awhile had passed, I had been at school for a couple days of RA training. Some of the staff and I decided we wanted to go to Target to peruse, and sure enough they had it! Without a second thought, I bought it!
Junior Year
Well it's off to school again. I'm headed back to the lovely Flagstaff for another semester at NAU. And in true mom style I was sent off with food to the Hilt. In the top left, I have a Brussel Sprout Salad (w/chopped apples, spicy/sweet pecans, goat cheese, and balsamic dressing). Next to that is a Farro Salad (with sliced cucumber tomato feta and cilantro), and in the front is a Peruvian Quinoa Stew (quinoa, zucchini, onions, carrots, garlic, bell peppers, and tomatoes.)
